Get to know Pamela Parker

BIO FOR PAMELA PARKER

Pamela first dug for gold on a TV show called CFRN’s Popcorn Playhouse when she was six years old. That was the beginning of her lifelong involvement in the TV, film and entertainment industries. Four years of Hawaiian and Jazz dance classes with stage makeup application and experience she turned thirteen and she said to herself, “Pamela? What are you going to do with your life? I want to be a movie star.” So, Pam looked up MOVIE STAR in the yellow pages. It wasn’t there but just above where it should be, it said, “Model”. “Oh, I’ll be a model and then I will be a movie star.”

This is Pamela at 17 years old. The photo is the award winning at a competition in Detroit which lead to a contract with Wilhelmina Models.

1973 Pamela started Modeling for Covergirl Modeling Agency. At sixteen yrs. old Parker did her First National Ad.  GWG, the Bum Campaign. 1977 Pamela entered the Wilhelmina International Modeling Agency Competition in Detroit. Out of three categories Pamela won two. First Prize in photography (photos by: Steve Makris of the Edmonton Journal. First prize Runway. Winning two trophies, a cash prize and a personal invitation from Wilhelmina Cooper to live and work in New York City.

February 1978 Pamela moved to New York City for 9 yrs. During that time in Manhattan she appeared on: The Cosby Show (Bill personally asked Pamela to be on the show) Saturday Morning Live ABC – Another World, Guiding Light – Regis And Kathy-Lee – Numerous Television Commercials (Hanes Pantyhose, Black & Decker)- Magazines, News Papers (New York Times, Star), Music Videos, Photography – Showroom Garment Centre 100’s of Fashion Shows – She taught Modeling at John Robert Powers Modeling School – Studied at Robert Fiancé Hair Dressing School & Voice with Magda Stott.

1987 Pamela brought back to Edmonton her own line of cosmetics from New York to start Pamela Parker Cosmetics. Pamela Specializing in makeup services for Television, Stage, Graduation, Weddings, Glamour, Family Portrait, Film, Theatrical or Dance Companies, Halloween, Image Enhancement, Actors, Singers, High School & J.H. Beauty Culture.

Finally, Pamela became a movie star in 12 days of Christmas Eve with Steve Weber 2005,
